ואלישע מליל עם אתתא דאחיי ית ברה למימר קומי ואזילו את ואנש ביתיך ודירי באתר דכשר למידר ארי זמין יי כפנא ואף עתיד למיתי על ארעא שבע שנין:
shnyn shbe area el lmythy ethyd wap kpna yy zmyn ary lmydr dkshr bathr wdyry bythyk wansh ath wazylw qwmy lmymr brh yth dakhyy aththa em mlyl walyshe
Now Elisha had spoken to the woman whose son he had restored to life, saying, “Arise, and go, you and your household, and stay for a while wherever you can; for Yahweh has called for a famine. It will also come on the land for seven years.”

וקמת אתתא ועבדת כפתגמא דנביא דיי ואזלת היא ואנש ביתה ואתותבת בארעא פלשתאי שבע שנין:
shnyn shbe plshthay barea wathwthbth bythh wansh hya wazlth dyy dnbya kpthgma webdth aththa wqmth
The woman arose, and did according to the man of God’s word. She went with her household, and lived in the land of the Philistines for seven years.

והוה מסוף שבע שנין ותבת אתתא מארעא פלשתאי ונפקת למיקבל קדם מלכא על ביתה ועל חקלה:
khqlh wel bythh el mlka qdm lmyqbl wnpqth plshthay marea aththa wthbth shnyn shbe mswp whwh
At the end of seven years, the woman returned from the land of the Philistines. Then she went out to beg the king for her house and for her land.

ומלכא מליל עם גחזי תלמידא דנביא דיי למימר אשתעי כען לי ית כל רברבתא דעבד אלישע:
alyshe debd rbrbtha kl yth ly ken ashthey lmymr dyy dnbya thlmyda gkhzy em mlyl wmlka
Now the king was talking with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, “Please tell me all the great things that Elisha has done.”

והוה הוא משתעי למלכא ית דאחיי ית מיתא והא אתתא דאחיי ית ברה קבלא קדם מלכא על ביתה ועל חקלה ואמר גחזי רבוני מלכא דא אתתא ודין ברה דאחיי אלישע:
alyshe dakhyy brh wdyn aththa da mlka rbwny gkhzy wamr khqlh wel bythh el mlka qdm qbla brh yth dakhyy aththa wha mytha yth dakhyy yth lmlka mshthey hwa whwh
As he was telling the king how he had restored to life him who was dead, behold, the woman whose son he had restored to life begged the king for her house and for her land. Gehazi said, “My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.”

ושאיל מלכא לאתתא ואשתעיאת ליה ומני לה מלכא גוזא חד למימר אתיב ית כל דילה וית כל עללת חקלא מיומא דשבקת ית ארעא ועד כען:
ken wed area yth dshbqth mywma khqla ellth kl wyth dylh kl yth athyb lmymr khd gwza mlka lh wmny lyh washtheyath laththa mlka wshayl
When the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed to her a certain officer, saying, “Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.”

ואתא אלישע דמשק ובר הדד מלכא דארם מרע ואתחוא ליה למימר אתא נביא דיי עד הלכא:
hlka ed dyy nbya atha lmymr lyh wathkhwa mre darm mlka hdd wbr dmshq alyshe watha
Elisha came to Damascus; and Benhadad the king of Syria was sick. He was told, “The man of God has come here.”

ואמר מלכא לחזאל סב בידך תקרובתא ואזיל לקדמות נביא דיי ותתבע ית פתגמא דיי מניה למימר האיחי ממרעי דין:
dyn mmrey haykhy lmymr mnyh dyy pthgma yth wththbe dyy nbya lqdmwth wazyl thqrwbtha bydk sb lkhzal mlka wamr
The king said to Hazael, “Take a present in your hand, and go meet the man of God, and inquire of Yahweh by him, saying, ‘Will I recover from this sickness?’”

ואזל חזאל לקדמותיה ונסיב תקרובתא בידיה וכל טוב דמשק טעון ארבעין גמלין ואתא וקם קדמוהי ואמר ברך בר הדד מלכא דארם שלחני לותך למימר האיחי ממרעי דין:
dyn mmrey haykhy lmymr lwthk shlkhny darm mlka hdd br brk wamr qdmwhy wqm watha gmlyn arbeyn Tewn dmshq Twb wkl bydyh thqrwbtha wnsyb lqdmwthyh khzal wazl
So Hazael went to meet him and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels’ burden, and came and stood before him and said, “Your son Benhadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, ‘Will I recover from this sickness?’”

ואמר ליה אלישע אזיל אמר ליה מיחא תיחי ואחזינני יי ארי ממת ימות:
ymwth mmth ary yy wakhzynny thykhy mykha lyh amr azyl alyshe lyh wamr
Elisha said to him, “Go, tell him, ‘You will surely recover;’ however Yahweh has shown me that he will surely die.”

ואסחר ית אפוהי ואוריך עד סגי ובכא נביא דיי:
dyy nbya wbka sgy ed wawryk apwhy yth waskhr
He settled his gaze steadfastly on him, until he was ashamed. Then the man of God wept.

ואמר חזאל מא דין רבוני בכי ואמר ארי ידענא ית דתעביד לבני ישראל בישא כרכיהון תוקיד בנורא ועולימיהון בחרבא תקטיל ועולימיהון תטרף ומעדיתיהון תבזע:
thbze wmedythyhwn thTrp wewlymyhwn thqTyl bkhrba wewlymyhwn bnwra thwqyd krkyhwn bysha yshral lbny dthebyd yth ydena ary wamr bky rbwny dyn ma khzal wamr
Hazael said, “Why do you weep, my lord?” He answered, “Because I know the evil that you will do to the children of Israel. You will set their strongholds on fire, and you will kill their young men with the sword, and will dash their little ones in pieces, and rip up their pregnant women.”

ואמר חזאל ארי מה עבדך כלבא ארי יעביד פתגמא רבא הדין ואמר אלישע אחזיני יי יתך מלכא על ארם:
arm el mlka ythk yy akhzyny alyshe wamr hdyn rba pthgma yebyd ary klba ebdk mh ary khzal wamr
Hazael said, “But what is your servant, who is but a dog, that he could do this great thing?” Elisha answered, “Yahweh has shown me that you will be king over Syria.”

ואזל מלות אלישע ואתא לות רבוניה ואמר ליה מה אמר לך אלישע ואמר אמר לי מחא תיחי:
thykhy mkha ly amr wamr alyshe lk amr mh lyh wamr rbwnyh lwth watha alyshe mlwth wazl
Then he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, “What did Elisha say to you?” He answered, “He told me that you would surely recover.”

והוה ביומא דבתרוהי ונסיב גונבא וטבל במיא ופרס על אפוהי ומית ומלך חזאל תחותוהי:
thkhwthwhy khzal wmlk wmyth apwhy el wprs bmya wTbl gwnba wnsyb dbthrwhy bywma whwh
On the next day, he took a thick cloth, dipped it in water, and spread it on the king’s face, so that he died. Then Hazael reigned in his place.

ובשנת חמש ליורם בר אחאב מלכא דישראל ויהושפט מלך שבטא דבית יהודה מלך יהורם בר יהושפט מלך יהודה:
yhwdh mlk yhwshpT br yhwrm mlk yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk wyhwshpT dyshral mlka akhab br lywrm khmsh wbshnth
In the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being king of Judah then, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign.

בר תלתין ותרתין שנין הוה כד מלך ותמני שנין מלך בירושלם:
byrwshlm mlk shnyn wthmny mlk kd hwh shnyn wthrthyn thlthyn br
He was thirty-two years old when he began to reign. He reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
18
ואזל באורח מלכי ישראל כמא דעבדו בית אחאב ארי בת אחאב הות ליה לאיתו ועבד דביש קדם יי:
yy qdm dbysh webd laythw lyh hwth akhab bth ary akhab byth debdw kma yshral mlky bawrkh wazl
He walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did Ahab’s house, for he married Ahab’s daughter. He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight.

ולא הוה רעוא קדם יי לחבלא ית דבית יהודה בדיל דוד עבדיה כמא דאמר ליה למתן ליה מלכו ולבנוהי כל יומיא:
ywmya kl wlbnwhy mlkw lyh lmthn lyh damr kma ebdyh dwd bdyl yhwdh dbyth yth lkhbla yy qdm rewa hwh wla
However, Yahweh would not destroy Judah, for David his servant’s sake, as he promised him to give to him a lamp for his children always.

ביומוהי מרדו אדומאי מתחות יד אנש יהודה ואמליכו עליהון מלכא:
mlka elyhwn wamlykw yhwdh ansh yd mthkhwth adwmay mrdw bywmwhy
In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.
21
ועבר יורם לצעיר וכל רתיכיא עמיה והוה הוא קם בליליא ומחא ית אנש אדום דמקפין ליה וית רבני רתיכיא ואפך עמא לקירווהי:
lqyrwwhy ema wapk rthykya rbny wyth lyh dmqpyn adwm ansh yth wmkha blylya qm hwa whwh emyh rthykya wkl ltseyr ywrm webr
Then Joram crossed over to Zair, and all his chariots with him; and he rose up by night and struck the Edomites who surrounded him with the captains of the chariots; and the people fled to their tents.

ומרדו אדומאי מתחות יד אנש יהודה עד יומא הדין בכן מרדו יתבי לבנה בעדנא ההיא:
hhya bedna lbnh ythby mrdw bkn hdyn ywma ed yhwdh ansh yd mthkhwth adwmay wmrdw
So Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah to this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.

ושאר פתגמי יורם וכל דעבד הלא אינון כתיבין על ספרא פתגמי יומיא למלכי דבית יהודה:
yhwdh dbyth lmlky ywmya pthgmy spra el kthybyn aynwn hla debd wkl ywrm pthgmy wshar
The rest of the acts of Joram, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

ושכיב יורם עם אבהתוהי ואתקבר עם אבהתוהי בקרתא דדוד ומלך אחזיהו בריה תחותוהי:
thkhwthwhy bryh akhzyhw wmlk ddwd bqrtha abhthwhy em wathqbr abhthwhy em ywrm wshkyb
Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in David’s city; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his place.

בשנת תרתא עסרי שנין ליורם בר אחאב מלכא דישראל מלך אחזיהו בר יהורם מלך שבטא דבית יהודה:
yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk yhwrm br akhzyhw mlk dyshral mlka akhab br lywrm shnyn esry thrtha bshnth
In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah began to reign.

בר עשרין ותרתן שנין אחזיה כד מלך ושתא חדא מלך בירושלם ושום אמיה עתליהו בת עמרי מלכא דישראל:
dyshral mlka emry bth ethlyhw amyh wshwm byrwshlm mlk khda wshtha mlk kd akhzyh shnyn wthrthn eshryn br
Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri king of Israel.

ואזל באורח בית אחאב ועבד דביש קדם יי כבית אחאב ארי חתנא דבית אחאב הוא:
hwa akhab dbyth khthna ary akhab kbyth yy qdm dbysh webd akhab byth bawrkh wazl
He walked in the way of Ahab’s house and did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, as did Ahab’s house, for he was the son-in-law of Ahab’s house.

ואזל עם יורם בר אחאב לאגחא קרבא עם חזאל מלכא דארם ברמות גלעד ומחו אנש ארם ית יורם:
ywrm yth arm ansh wmkhw gled brmwth darm mlka khzal em qrba lagkha akhab br ywrm em wazl
He went with Joram the son of Ahab to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth Gilead, and the Syrians wounded Joram.

ותב יורם מלכא לאתסאה ביזרעאל מן מחתא דמחוהי אנש ארם ברמתא כד אגיח קרבא עם חזאל מלכא דארם ואחזיהו בר יהורם מלך שבטא דבית יהודה נחת למסעד ית יורם בר אחאב ביזרעאל ארי מרע הוא:
hwa mre ary byzreal akhab br ywrm yth lmsed nkhth yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk yhwrm br wakhzyhw darm mlka khzal em qrba agykh kd brmtha arm ansh dmkhwhy mkhtha mn byzreal lathsah mlka ywrm wthb
King Joram returned to be healed in Jezreel from the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. Ahaziah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.
